Currently I am focused on recreating unique natural phenomena & historical moments. The episodes I plan to present at WAD is the appearance of comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS). Last year we had a rare opportunity to observe a comet that will return to the sky in 80,000 years. I chose Rock of Dunamase (Ireland) as the site for my observation & painting. This ancient site with Celtic fortifications dates back 800 years, offers a sense of timelessness.
The painting is created in an impressionist style using oil paints & gold leaf. It is a diptych in which I depict the comet soaring through the infinite heavens, capturing the deep velvety palette of colors on an autumn night.
In the vastness of the sky a comet travels through the ages, witnessed by the silent thousand-year-old walls of Rock of Dunamase & a couple of lovers bathed in moonlight. True love, like the comet, is not bound by time or distance; those who love, live forever
