The Inner Illumination

I created "The Inner Illumination" to reflect the strength and beauty within, inspired by an Arabic poem by Abu Qasim Al-Shabi: "النور في قلبي وبين جوانحي فعلام أخشى السير في الظلمة" ("The light is within my heart and between my ribs, so why should I fear walking in the darkness?"). This verse resonates with my own journey, symbolizing the resilience and light we carry within. The painting depicts a lady surrounded by elements of nature, symbolizing beauty and the complexity of inner strength. Using oil paints, I focused on creating texture and contrast to depict the light within her, contrasting with the darkness that surrounds her. I want the audience to feel a sense of inner peace and empowerment, understanding that even in times of uncertainty, the light within us can guide the way.
