The seal, as a symbol of traditional Chinese culture, is both a representation of identity and a symbol of power, revealing the artists' traditional Chinese values. This is also the reason why Xue decided to use seals in their paintings. As the artist explains about the imagery in his works, "We choose a representative image and then deconstruct it to give it a pixelated effect of the digital age. This deconstruction in itself gives the image an intrinsic connection and makes the image a vehicle for the artist's expression. These images are mutated, their original connotations are reduced, and enter a state of collision, fragmentation, mutation, and dissolution.". The seals are the best ortrayal of the artists' formal interpretation of the composition of this cultural collision, agmentation, mutation and dissolution, aptly expressing their unique views on the contact between different cultures.
