Dubai’s Rise: A vision Etched in black and white

Al Astad Art Gallery | Stand : JA01, JA09, JA10

Inspired by Dubai’s first skyscraper, Sheikh Rashid Tower, this painting begins with a portrait of Sheikh Rashid Al Maktoum, focusing on his eyes and symbols of tradition. Sheikh Mohammed’s iconic hand gesture represents victory, triumph, and love, leading to landmarks like the Dubai Frame, Museum of the Future, and Burj Khalifa, symbolizing progress. Sheikh Hamdan’s portrait reflects a visionary future.
The tower emerges from Sheikh Rashid’s eyes as stair-like levels, representing its 38-39 floors, each tied to Dubai’s evolution. Using my signature black-and-white technique on foam instead of canvas, the piece embodies Dubai’s journey from humble beginnings to greatness.”*
