What is Golvani?
Golvani (in Persian: Golbandi) is a type of headscarf or headband worn by Lur, Lak, and Kurd women. In Persian, it is pronounced as “Golbandi,” derived from the word “Golbadn.” Golvani is a delicate, silky fabric of origin.
Gol Badan means a body like a flower.
Why did I choose this name for this painting? Because the fabric of the headscarf worn by this Iranian nomadic weaver is made of the same material and is, in fact, a Golvani.
The patterns on the woven carpets are somewhat imaginative, gathered and composed from scattered images. The color scheme of this piece is entirely based on my own taste and does not follow any reference photos.
