The sotoba depicted alongside figures in "Dreamlike State" is a memorial object used in traditional Japanese cemeteries. The extraordinary atmosphere of cemeteries at night deeply inspires me. I sought to capture the hauntingly captivating beauty of such a setting.
"proto" is the first piece in a series designed to illustrate an imaginary world. The central character in this work plays a pivotal role in the series. As the series expands, the story and background of this character and their world will gradually unfold.
