This painting shows a sad reality of human life. Even though people live close to each other, depend on one another socially, and interact daily, many are emotionally and mentally far apart. These invisible but deep and bold gaps are shown in the painting through lines that are placed near each other but have no real connection.
The lines represent the thoughts and feelings of people, each living with their own ideas, beliefs, and experiences, but without any common ground to truly connect.
