Kites symbolize freedom because they fly high in the sky. It also symbolizes unity and the connection between heaven and earth.

Over the past year, the kite has become a powerful symbol of Palestinian freedom and resistance. I tried to symbolize the future and the fate of the youth of Palestine. 

Paint drippings beneath houses depict an unbreakable connection of the owners to the land . No matter the houses are taken down but the ownership cannot be taken away and they'll be rebuilt again.

The sun behind the houses gives the message of life, power, hope and a new beginning.

A key in this painting symbolizes freedom, possession and commitment.

In the background (vintage book pages, post cards, letters, diary pages) everything is related to memories of the time when they used to live in their actual home. So basically the past and the future both are portrayed on the canvas.
