Olive tree and Jaffa oranges

Moda Society | Stand : JA07

Jaffa oranges hold immense significance for Palestinians, representing a deep connection to their land, heritage, and national identity. These oranges are a source of pride, symbolizing the country's fertile agricultural land and rich agricultural history, which many believe has been overlooked or denied.
Palestinian farmers developed this variety in the 19th century, and it became a major export crop. In Palestinian culture, the Jaffa orange is often featured in art, literature, and murals, serving as a reminder of their roots and the struggle for their homeland.
I have painted a traditional Jaffa house with an orange tree and the 'Key' in front of the door, symbolizing ownership of Palestinians who are the actual owners.
There is also a basket full of oranges, representing a bright future that awaits, filled with unlimited abundance and prosperity.
