I'm Amita; a self-taught artist from Hubli, India. I always wanted to pursue art because that would make me feel content. But I ended up doing engineering and subsequently a corporate job.
What started off as a hobby close to my heart, turned into a part of my daily life when I quit my corporate job back in 2010.
My deep admiration for Claude Monet has been a constant source of inspiration in my artistic journey.
My art practice is a journey of self-discovery, and characterized by a willingness to surrender to the creative flow. When I approach my canvas, I go with the flow, letting my instincts and emotions guide my hand. My brush strokes are loose, capturing the fluidity of the water and delicate curves of water lily flowers.
This allows me to convey the emotional essence of my subject. I trust my inner voice and this connection between my inner thoughts and the canvas results in pieces that are not only visually striking but also resonate with authenticity.
