Things always have a beginning and an end.

When I started art, I found a lush swamp with lots of water lily pads. At that time, I was suffering the most in my life. I remember that my tears had flowed and I sympathized with the figure formed by the large dead leaves holding each other together. I made a work and since then, from time to time, I make works with the theme of water lily pads. When I went to the swamp recently, all the water lilies had withered. The figure seemed to lower its head and hundreds of people seemed to have died. It has been fifteen years since I cried there. I also grew older and felt a different feeling than before. So I made a new work to remember the end of things.
